Below are the most common injuries vaccines can cause:
Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP)
It is a neurological disorder marked by progressive weakness and impaired sensory function in the arms and legs. Also known as chronic relapsing polyneuropathy, CIDP is caused by damage to the myelin sheath—a fatty covering that insulates and protects nerve fibers—of the peripheral nerves.
Common signs and symptoms of CIDP:
- Abnormal sensations
- Difficulty walking
- Tiredness/Fatigue
- Loss of deep tendon reflexes (Areflexia)
- Problems breathing
- Sensory changes
- Slurred speech
- Experience uncoordination
- Tingling or numbness (beginning in the toes and fingers) and trouble using arms or legs (weakness of the arms and legs)
Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS)
GBS is a disorder where a person’s immune system attacks their nerve cells. It often starts with muscle weakness and tingling in the lower extremities, which then spread to the upper extremities. In some cases, symptoms begin in the arms or face. This progression can lead to temporary or permanent paralysis.
Common signs and symptoms of GBS:
- Tingling in legs or arms
- Muscle paralysis (limited, temporary or permanent)
- Difficulty chewing or swallowing
- Pins and needles feeling in your extremities
- Problems breathing
- Trouble walking or keeping your balance
- Weakness in your legs that spreads upwards
SIRVA
Many individuals in the United States receive routine vaccinations throughout their lives. After vaccination, it’s common to experience mild arm soreness and stiffness for a few days, a sensation familiar to those who receive vaccines regularly.
However, in some instances, these temporary symptoms can persist and worsen, eventually rendering the arm and shoulder unusable due to intense pain. This condition, known as SIRVA (Shoulder Injury Related to Vaccine Administration), can cause prolonged pain and limited movement lasting for months or even years, significantly impacting one’s quality of life.
Those affected by SIRVA may struggle with everyday tasks such as dressing, bathing, driving, or caring for children. The discomfort from shoulder pain can also make it difficult to find a comfortable sleeping position.
COVID 19 Vaccine Injury and Long COVID 19 Disability
Currently, the COVID 19 vaccine injury provides limited to no recovery for those injured by the COVID 19 vaccination due to federal laws protecting the administration of the shot. That means that if you vaccinate with COVID 19 and are injured there are limited options to sue for damages. However, if you have been disabled and are unable to work as a result of COVID 19 vaccine injury or long COVID disability we can help you secure SSDI, if eligible.
